Toni Braxton is in the middle of one of her proudest moments as her youngest son, Diezel, graduated from Howard University. The incredibly talented singer took to social media to announce the great news to her followers. Toni couldn't hide how proud she was, going so far as to say it was the "best Mother's Day gift" she could ever get to see her son cross the stage and become a graduate.
Diezel's graduation day was filled will all his family who showed him love and support from his grandmother Evelyn Braxton, father Keri Lewis, and brother Denim they were there to cheer him on. It was an emotional day for Diezel that marked a huge milestone in his life after being diagnosed with Autism as a young child. His success is a true representation of his efforts and the love and support of his family.

Toni Braxton has had a lot of experiences in her career, but being a mother of a GRADUATE must be one of her proudest moments. Her youngest son, Diezel, just graduated from Howard University, and the singer, songwriter and producer took to Instagram to celebrate.
"I got the best Mother's Day gift! @diezel.braxton is officially a HOWARD UNIVERSITY GRADUATE!! I'm so proud of you and can not wait to see the incredible things you will do! YOU DID THAT! 🧡 Proud #BoyMom." Diezel said he got very emotional during graduation, shedding a tear before he walked across the stage.
Toni's sister, Trina Braxton, congratulated him in the comments to the post: "Congratulations, nephew @diezel.braxton and @tonibraxton." Diezel had family behind him on his special day, with his grandmother Evelyn Braxton, father Keri Lewis, and brother Denim in attendance, rooting him on.
Diezel Ky Braxton-Lewis was born in March 2003, and was diagnosed with autism at three years old. Toni has talked about her struggle to accept his diagnosis, with an understanding that parents sometimes have a period of denial. "These kids need to be taught differently," Toni expressed, "but he's a great kid." Despite his diagnosis, Diezel has flourished and pursued an assortment of interests. At nine, he appeared next to his mother Toni, in the Lifetime movie Twist of Faith, when he was 15 he began modeling.
In an interview with Access Hollywood in 2020, Toni mentioned that Diezel did not show any signs of autism. "He [has] no signs of autism," she said, adding her gratitude that her son is "off the spectrum." While experts agree autism is not something that goes away, symptoms can diminish as a person ages, and Diezel's improvement is something his mother takes great pride in.
