Chris Brown has been granted bail by a London court after being charged with assault related to a 2023 incident at a nightclub in London.
The 36-year-old singer, who has faced a series of legal challenges over the years, was not present at the hearing where Judge Tony Baumgartner approved his release on bail.
Chris Brown’s UK arrest and assault charges
Chris Brown's arrest happened on May 15, 2025, in a hotel in Manchester. The charges he is accused of is allegedly grievous bodily harm in an “unprovoked attack” in 2023.
The plaintiff is music producer Amadou "Abe" Diaw. According to the lawsuit he filed in October 2023, Brown allegedly beat him over the head with a tequila bottle while at a nightclub in London.
Chris Brown’s 2023 incident
According to Diaw, the assault happened on February 19, 2023, during Brown’s “Under the Influence” tour. The plaintiff alleges Brown struck Diaw multiple times with a Don Julio 1942 Tequila bottle and continued to stomp on him after he was unconscious.
Diaw ended up needing hospital treatment for serious head injuries and torn ligaments. However, Brown has now been granted bail ahead of his upcoming Breezy Bowl XX World Tour, which is supposed to start in Amsterdam on June 8.
