A medical transport plane crashed in Philadelphia on January 31, claiming the lives of six onboard and one person on the ground. Last week, a small commuter plane crashed in Alaska, killing all 10 people aboard.
What happened at the Arizona Scottsdale Airport?
A midsize business jet crashed into another parked midsize jet on private property, according to Kelli Kuester, the aviation planning and outreach coordinator at the Scottsdale Airport. One of the jets had veered off the runway and struck a Gulfstream 200 jet, with the primary landing gear believed to have caused the accident.
The arriving jet, which had flown in from Austin, Texas, was carrying four people, while the parked jet had one occupant. Two people were rushed to trauma centers, while another was reported to be in stable condition at a local hospital, said Scottsdale Fire Department Capt. Dave Folio. Efforts are underway to recover the body of the deceased.

The airport’s runway has been closed, and officials have stated it will remain shut down for an indefinite period. The Scottsdale Airport is a major destination for private jets, especially during large events such as the Waste Management Phoenix Open golf tournament.
