The Federal Aviation Administration now permits private aircraft owners, to request the withholding of personal information from public records, enhancing flight privacy.

On March 28, 2025, the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) allows private aircraft owners to request the withholding of their personal information, such as names and addresses, from public records.
This change, mandated by the FAA Reauthorization Act of 2024, aims to enhance privacy and security for individuals operating non-commercial flights. Owners can submit their requests through the Civil Aviation Registry Electronic Services (CARES) platform.

Swift, is no stranger to a security breach. In 2023, a man was arrested outside her home in New York City after trying to break in. And in 2022, a man was arrested for drunkenly driving a car into the building and allegedly trying to break in.

While the safety concerns are valid, this kind of tracking has also highlighted environmental concerns.
The carbon footprint often left by high-profile individuals is not small, and the new FFA measures will limit the ability of the public to monitor such activities; reducing accountability for them.
