Former president Joe Biden gave his first speech after leaving the White House at the National Conference of Disability Advocates, Counselors, and Representatives on Tuesday, April 16.

Biden stated, "In less than 100 days, this new administration has caused so much damage and destruction. It's truly stunning." This is because he believes Trump has destroyed the country's social security system.

Social security changes: Will this measure harmful?

The Trump administration seeks to cut $1.6 billion from the Social Security Agency (SSA). He and Elon Musk, his head of the Department of Government Efficiency, claim the SSA is riddled with fraud.

The Department of Government Efficiency has made monetary cuts since February of this year. The main objective is to eliminate 7,000 jobs, representing 10% of the workforce there.

This Tuesday, Trump signed an order preventing immigrants and other ineligible individuals from receiving Social Security payments. In his speech, Biden declared, “They want to destroy it so they can steal it. Why do they want to steal it? To give tax cuts to billionaires and large corporations.”

Barack Obama criticizes Trump

This Tuesday, Barack Obama also published a statement on the social media platform X. In this post, the former president says the decision to eliminate more than $2 billion in federal funding for Harvard University was illegal and foolish.

Trump's decisions regarding Harvard come after the university confirmed that it would not make changes to its hiring, admissions, and teaching practices. The president considers these actions essential to combat alleged antisemitism on campus.
