Valeria Márquez, a 23-year-old Mexican influencer, was fatally shot on May 14, 2025, while livestreaming from her beauty salon in Jalisco, Mexico.
During the video she was expressing concern over a gift she had received, questioning the origin of a delivery package, asking whether it had arrived by motorcycle, fearing she was being targeted. While there was speculation over her ex-partner's involvement in the murder, the Jalisco State Prosecutor's Office, has stated that it is very likely hitmen who commited the murder.

The model influencer gained popularity in 2021 when she won a beauty pageant called "Miss Face". Soon after she began creating social media content, where she talked about make-up, self-care, fashion and trips.
Additionally, she had over 100 000 followers on TikTok and was the manager of the beauty salon where she was murdered: "Blossom The Beauty Lounge".
How was Valeria Márquez murdered?
While she was livestreaming, Márquez said that she was in the salon waiting for a package as the messenger had been previously in the building, but refused to gave up the package stating it was expensive, and he had to deliver it to her explicitly.
Her friend, Ericka, had told her that she could not see the face of the guy who was looking for her. "Was he planning to kidnap me or what?", she asked, worried. Later, according to authorities, there were 2 men on a motorcycle outside the salon, and one of them asked the victim if she was Valeria. When she confirmed her identity, Márquez was seen grabbing her chest and her stomach in pain to later collapse in a chair.
