On his social media, he updated on the rescue and recovery works being led by authorities in the most damaged places. At least four tornadoes have been confirmed, affecting areas near Elbert, Adams, and Arapahoe counties.
In response to the recent tornadoes that impacted Colorado last weekend, the National Weather Service (NWS) advises the public to avoid affected areas—specifically the towns of Bennett and Elizabeth counties. They are evaluating the need for evacuations, meanwhile, the Colorado Division of Homeland Security and Emergency Management announced on X that while weather conditions have stabilized, monitoring, restoration, and cleanup operations are still ongoing.
Which areas in Colorado are going to be impacted by storms and tornadoes?
Four tornadoes have been confirmed across the state. It is mainly affecting Elbert, Adams, and Arapahoe counties, resulting in a lot of damage to houses and buildings. In Elbert County, near Elizabeth Town, 19 houses were damaged and destroyed, according to reports from Colorado Public Radio.
In Arapahoe County, the Sheriff's Office reported on X that a tornado touched down three times last Sunday, damaging 17 structures, including six homes in the town of Bennett. Meanwhile, in Adams County, local authorities also confirmed via X that Bennett was impacted and emphasized that active coordination is ongoing with neighboring counties and the governor’s office to support emergency response efforts.
