Florida Man Chris Brown charged with attempted murder after allegedly shooting His Three Sons
A shocking act of family violence in Florida has left the nation reeling — as investigators piece together the events, the case raises alarming questions about domestic abuse, gun access, and the systems meant to prevent such tragedies.

In Ruskin, Florida, Chris Brown, 36, is accused of attacking his three child sons. A criminal affidavit stated that Brown confronted the three boys while they were walking to the community pool with a semiautomatic pistol. It stated he hit one of the sons in the face with the weapon and it discharged, grazing the boy's jaw and ear. As the other two sons confronted him, Brown fired multiple rounds toward them while walking back to his car.
The Hillsborough County Sheriff's Office subsequently obtained surveillance footage that confirmed the chain of events, showing Brown hit one son and then fired when the two sons approached. One of the boys was also on a phone call and recorded Brown making specific threats of further violence, saying, "I tried to take your life" and "you won't make it to Wednesday."
Florida shooting sparks alarms over domestic violence and gun safety laws
Brown was arrested the same day. His resistance to arrest brought new charges of resisting arrest, criminal mischief, and two counts of burglarizing a structure occupied by a person. Because he is a felon, Brown is not eligible for prison release. His next court date is May 22.
The situation raises concerns for domestic violence and gun safety, especially when children are involved. Community members and public officials are calling for more awareness and prevention to protect individuals from these violent acts.
