FBI probes targeted terror incident in Boulder, Colorado: Latest updates

A peaceful solidarity event in Boulder turned into a tragedy now under FBI investigation to uncover what led to the suspected terror attack and how authorities are responding.

A directed terror attack occurred near Pearl Street Mall in Boulder, Colorado, during otherwise calm solidarity walk sponsored by "Run For Their Lives." The walk was to be a show of solidarity for the release of Israeli hostages who are being held in Gaza. Witnesses reported that a suspect had thrown Molotov cocktails at marchers, causing a range of injuries, including to children. The Boulder Police Department acted swiftly, evacuating several blocks and cautioning the public to avoid the scene. FBI Director Kash Patel reported that both local and federal law enforcement officials were on the ground and actively pursuing the incident.

The assault occurred around 1:00 p.m. MDT, and emergency responders quickly closed in to secure the area. Cell phone footage at the scene reported burns on the ground and at least one individual being transported on a stretcher. The Boulder Police Department issued a public notice through social media asking individuals to avoid the area. A suspect had allegedly been apprehended at the scene. The FBI has released no other information on the identity or motive of the suspect.
