Anne Jakrajutatip remains CEO of Miss Universe amid financial irregularity claims

Anne Jakrajutatip denies financial manipulation accusations and remains CEO of Miss Universe, assuring no changes in leadership.

Anne Jakrajutatip remains as CEO of Miss Universe after an investigation in Thailand for accounting irregularities, according to the official press release the company issued on their official website.

The Miss Universe official Instagram account also made a post regarding the statement, sharing the link, in which they denied all accusations towards their CEO, calling them "completely false", and any changes to their in its executive leadership. This means Jakrajutatip is still the CEO, and Raúl Rocha continues to serve as president.

The statement finished urging both, the public and media to refer to their verified channels for information.

What is Anne Jakrajutatip accused of?

JKN Global Group first announce that Anne Jakrajutatip and her sister, Pimuma Jakrajutatip, had resigned from their executive positions. According to the company's spokespersons, both of them submitted their resignation as directors, subcommittee members and executives of the JKN.

This happened in the middle of an investigation led by the Thai Securities and Exchange Commission, which accused them of irregularities, including filing false statements and failing to properly maintain accounting records and financial statements.

Who is Anne Jakrajutatip?

The famous CEO and Thai public figure was born on February 17, 1979, in Thailand. She is the executive director and founder of JKN Global Group, a multinational media and content distribution conglomerate. 

Jakrajutatip became the first transgender woman to own the Miss Universe Organization in October 2022. The purchase, which amounted to $20 million also included the Miss USA and Miss Teen USA pageants.
