Fiscal Coordinator shot and killed at mall robbery in Fusagasugá-Colombia: investigation underway
Karin Sefair Calderón, a fiscal coordinator in Fusagasugá - Colombia, was fatally shot during a robbery at a local mall.
Karin Sefair Calderón, who served as Fusagasugá's Sectional Fiscal Coordinator, was murdered on Tuesday, June 10, at a shopping center. According to the local authorities, it is supposed to be a case of robbery.
Cundinamarca Prosecutor's Office, states that the 49-year-old had just withdrawn money from an ATM around 1p.m. and was in the parking lot, when the robbery occurred.

While the victim was immediately taken to a medical center inside the shopping center, but due to the severity of his injuries he was transferred to San Rafael Hospital. After then, he sadly passed away.
The Mayor's office states in the obituary: “At 49 years of age, 12 of them in the service of the Prosecutor's Office, he dedicated his life to delivering justice".
The mayor's office ordered authorities to investigate the case and identify, place, and arrest those guilty of the crime. The office also wants to investigate the situation, as Calderón had not requested security to withdraw the money. However, there is still unclear if he was with someone at the time of the robbery.

The Mayor's office also requested an extraordinary Security Council meeting with Public Authorities to find out what really happened. Additionally, this is not the first time this week a politician has been shot. On Saturday, June 7, 2025, the pre presidential candidate Miguel Uribe Turbay was the victim of an attack and was shot. Right now, he is fighting for his life at the hospital.
On Tuesday, June 10, terrorists attacks have been reported in Cali, Buenaventura and Cauca. At least 4 deaths have been confirmed by local authorities due to the violence.
