Elon Musk shares drug test results denying ketamine use amid media controversy
Elon Musk shared the results of a negative drug test after rumors of ketamine use.

The SpaceX owner, Elon Musk, shared a post on social media a picture of a negative drug test on Tuesday, June 17, 2025, after rumors of him consuming ketamine during the 2024 presidential campaign were reported by The New York Times.

The tech billionaire captioned the picture with a simple line, “lol.” Additionally, he challenged the NYT and WSJ to take drug tests and get the same results. Musk ended the post saying he knew they would not do it, calling them hypocrites and "guilty as sin".
In a following post, Musk also shared a picture of the Wall Street Journal logo, with the letters "w,s,j" to mean "we suck at journalism", he captioned the post with the line: "Their new name is perfect".
Elon Musk's drug use rumors
According to the report published by The New York Times, the CEO was using ketamine along with other drugs while on the campaign trail with the current President Donald Trump, and told people close to him that his drug use was so often that it was impacting his bladder. The report also included the use of psychedelic mushrooms, and ecstasy.
Additionally, the report stated Elon Musk would travel with a box containing 20 pills, claiming many individuals had seen the box and picture which proved their existence.

Elon Musk responds to drug use rumors
Clearly, Musk did not take well the allegations and firmly claimed the media was “lying their a‑‑ off,” after the report was published. While he denied a drug abuse problem, Elon Musk admitted he had used ketamine in the past and had already revealed it on social media years ago, "so this not even news".
Musk stated he had not taken any kind of drugs ever since.
