Strait of Hormuz closure by Iran would trigger economic disaster, says Marco Rubio
Marco Rubio comments that he is concerned about the closure of the Strait of Hormuz due to the United States attacks on Iran's nuclear bases.

Marco Rubio, the US Secretary of State, has mentioned that China is encouraging Iran not to close the Strait of Hormuz oil corridor due to the US attacks on Iran's nuclear facilities yesterday.
Rubio made the following statement regarding this: "I encourage the Chinese government in Beijing to call them out on this, because they depend heavily on the Strait of Hormuz for their oil. If they do this, it will be another terrible mistake. It would be economic suicide for them. And we retain options to address this, but other countries should also consider it. It would hurt other countries' economies much more than ours," the Secretary of State commented.
Rubio warns Iran: U.S. is ready to respond
Rubio commented that the negotiations also included the deployment of 14 bunker-busting bombs, not including the two dozen Tomahawk missiles and the more than 125 US military aircraft deployed throughout Iran.
On the other hand, Rubio commented that Iran will be judged for all the attacks and retaliations currently taking place and that they might be willing to negotiate if requested, but that they also have "other responses" if they decide not to: "We will judge them by their future actions. If they want to negotiate, we will negotiate. If they want to do dangerous things, we have responses available," commented the US Secretary of State and one of President Donald Trump's right-hand men.
U.S. strikes Iran nuclear sites as tensions rise in key oil route
These statements come in the context of the US attack on three major Iranian nuclear facilities, such as Fordow, Ifshahan, and Natanz, using B-2 stealth bombers.
The Strait of Hormuz contains nearly 20% of the world's oil and gas, as this canal connects the Persian Gulf with the Indian Ocean and the Arabian Sea. This canal also connects northern Iran with the southern Arabian Peninsula.
