As the highly anticipated next chapter in the Captain America franchise, expectations were high, but initial responses suggest a divide among fans and critics.

While many applaud the film’s action-packed sequences and fresh take on the beloved superhero, others describe it as “slightly empty”, questioning its emotional depth and storytelling. Captain America: Brave New World marks Anthony Mackie’s first time leading a Marvel film. He debuted as Sam Wilson/Falcon in 2014’s 'Captain America: The Winter Soldier', starring alongside Chris Evans. In 2019’s 'Avengers: Endgame', Evans’ Steve Rogers officially passed the Captain America shield to Sam, positioning Mackie as one of the MCU’s new central figures. The 2021 Disney+ series 'The Falcon and the Winter Soldier' explored Sam’s struggle with taking on the mantle, ultimately leading to his decision to embrace the role, paving the way for Brave New World.
