The show depicts the spring moose migration in Sweden. Millions of people are watching the live broadcast of the event.

“The Great Moose Migration,” as the show is called, began airing Tuesday on Swedish television station (SVT). The creatures have been making this great journey for thousands of years in search of summer pastures.

Curious facts about the tv show: Program creation and duration

The serie premiered in 2019 on the same channel that broadcasts it today, SVT Play, and garnered one million viewers in its first year. Last year, it garnered 9 million viewers.

The tv show runs uninterrupted, 24 hours a day, for 20 days. The coverage features footage of the moose traveling through the forests and the Angerman River using remote cameras and drones.

Fans of the tv show

In addition to their television audience, some fans interact with others about the show. This is true in a Facebook group called "We Love the Great Moose Migration on SVT." This social group has more than 78,000 members, where users share photos of their televisions tuned into the show.

The recordings had to be broadcast a week before the show's regular start date because the migration was moved up due to weather conditions. Some fans were unable to follow the event from the start, but the show's producers told them not to worry because there are three weeks left to air, meaning the show will run for a month.
