Taylor Swift surprises fans again! We finally got a full taste of her rerecorded hit “Look What You Made Me Do (Taylor’s Version)” thanks to the latest episode of Hulu’s dystopian drama "The Handmaid’s Tale".
The song plays at the start of episode nine, accompanying a powerful scene where the handmaids march in formation to lead an uprising.

Elisabeth Moss, the series star and executive producer, stated that she has been waiting long for the show to feature a Taylor Swift song. "I’m so glad we waited because there could not be a more perfect song for a more perfect moment.” According to her, many of "The Handmaid’s Tale" cast are swifties, including her and co-star Yvonne Strahovski.
"It’s such an honor to be able to use her music in the final episodes of our show.” Moss said to Billboard.
'Look What You Made Me Do (Taylor's Version)' in Tv shows
This is not the first time Taylor Swift has dropped the re recorded version of a song while the album still is under-wraps. It first happened with "Wildest Dreams (Taylor's version)" from "1989 (Taylor's version)" for the Netflix series "Spirit Untamed" in 2021. She also did it for "This Love" from the same album for the Prime series "The Summer I Turned Pretty".
However, just "Look What You Made Me Do (Taylor's version)" has had snippets featured in 2024 Apple TV+ docuseries "The Dynasty: New England Patriots", and in a teaser for Amazon Original "Wilderness". With Hulu's "The Handmaid's Tale", is the first time we hear the full song.
