Sabrina Carpenter addressed a letter to her fans saying that she did not expect to release a new record so soon, "but life was really happening to me and inspiration struck!". According to the letter, the process of making "Man’s Best Friend" was like a gift that should not be "taken for granted", she said.

"Manchild"- the main single of Carpenter's new album

"Manchild" was dropped a week ago, as a critique of immature men, and debuted on the Global Spotify chart as the #1 song with 8.05 million streams. This song currently holds the record for biggest streaming debut of the year for a female artist.

Sabrina Carpenter teased the song a couple of days before, showing a small clip of her being on the highway with high heels, denim shorts, a white blouse and her iconic hair do.
