Shakira's much-anticipated concert in Lima has been canceled following the global superstar's hospitalization during her world tour. This unexpected health issue has left thousands of fans disappointed. The sudden change in her tour schedule has also sparked concerns about her well-being, as fans eagerly await updates from her team.

The cancellation comes during Shakira’s international tour, "Las Mujeres Ya No Lloran", which has been attracting massive crowds across multiple countries. As one of the most celebrated Latin artists of all time, Shakira is scheduled to perform nearly 50 shows across Latin America by the end of June, with additional dates planned in the US and Canada.

Yesterday morning, the 48-year-old Colombian superstar, posted on Instagram Stories that she was currently on the hospital; as she had gone to the emergency room on Saturday night, and she had to remained there.

“I am very sad to not be able to take the stage today. I’ve been looking forward to reuniting with my incredible fans here in Peru,” she added.

The Colombian singer was admitted to Clínica Delgado in Lima due to a medical complication caused by an abdominal condition that required hospitalization, forcing her to cancel her concert at the Estadio Nacional. More than twelve hours later, she was discharged and is now resting at her hotel alongside her team and her children, who traveled to the Peruvian capital to be with her.

She later thanked her fans for their love and incredible support.

No news for a new date yet

Right now, it is still unclear whether Shakira will be able to perform today's scheduled show, as Masterlive, the company that brought her to Peru, has not yet made an announcement.

However, earlier today, they released a statement saying that they are currently coordinating with Shakira's team to reach the best possible outcome for everyone involved and to confirm whether today's concert will proceed.

They also mentioned that they are working on rescheduling Sunday’s canceled concert and arranging refunds for those who prefer them.

An official confirmation from Shakira’s team regarding the situation is expected at 11:30 A.M. (GMT-5).

Furthermore, Masterlive concluded the statement by emphasizing that Shakira's health and well-being remain the top priority and thanked fans for their support and patience.
