Peruvian culture at the NBA game in 2024 This won’t be the first time Peruvian culture shines at an NBA game. Last year, exactly in March, there was also a musical show during halftime of the Washington Wizards vs. Orlando Magic game. It was truly a celebration at the Capital One Arena with over 20,000 spectators in attendance.
On that occasion, the Papalca USA School of Art and Music, which will also perform on March 31, 2025, impressed everyone with the traditional marinera and Peruvian cajón music. Fans in the stands waved the ‘blanquirroja’ flag.
“We've had the opportunity to perform on various stages over the past 20 years, working in collaboration with the embassy, but this is the first time we are performing in such a vast and majestic stadium like the NBA's,” said the school’s director, Víctor Ruiz.
