As the economic landscape in the United States continues to face uncertainties, several states have announced plans to distribute stimulus checks and financial aid to residents in January 2025. These payments aim to ease financial burdens, address rising costs of living, and provide targeted support to vulnerable populations.

While federal stimulus programs remain dormant, state governments have stepped in with tailored financial relief initiatives. From tax rebates to specialized assistance programs, here are the states confirming payments for January 2025.

Who are the US States confirming the Stimulus Checks in January 2025

1. Alaska: Annual Permanent Fund Dividend

Residents of Alaska will continue receiving payments from the Permanent Fund Dividend (PFD), financed by the state’s oil revenues. Eligible applicants will receive a payment of $1,702. This program remains a vital financial supplement for many Alaskan households.

2. Arizona: Family Tax Refund Program

In Arizona, stimulus payments will target families based on their 2021 tax returns. Families with dependents under 17 years old are set to receive $250 per child, while those with older dependents will get $100 per person. Over 700,000 families are expected to benefit from this initiative.

3. Colorado: TABOR Sales Tax Refunds

Under the Taxpayer's Bill of Rights (TABOR), Colorado will issue refunds to eligible taxpayers. Individual filers can expect up to $565, while joint filers may receive as much as $1,130. These refunds stem from surplus state revenues.

4. Georgia: 'In Her Hands' Financial Aid Program

Georgia has launched the 'In Her Hands' initiative, specifically aimed at supporting low-income African American women. Payments of $850 will be distributed to 650 participants, funded through partnerships with GRO Fund and GiveDirectly.
