What is the FFESP Program in California?

The Sacramento Family First Economic Support Pilot is a guaranteed income initiative designed to alleviate economic hardships for families in California. The program provides:

  • Monthly Payments: Beneficiaries receive $725 per month for a full year, totaling $8,700 in financial aid.
  • Program Duration: The program began on December 15, 2024, and will continue until November 15, 2025.

The funds are unrestricted, allowing families to use them for essentials such as housing, food, education, or healthcare.

When will beneficiaries receive the January Payment?

The January 2025 payment will be issued on January 15, 2025. Payments are distributed on the 15th of each month, ensuring consistent support for participating families.

How are payments distributed in California?

Beneficiaries can receive their monthly payments through the following methods:

  • Direct Deposit: Payments are transferred directly into the bank accounts linked to recent tax filings.
  • Physical Checks: For those without banking information, checks are mailed to the address provided during registration.

To avoid delays, beneficiaries are encouraged to update their contact and banking details with the program administrators.

Who is eligible for the Program?

To qualify for the FFESP, families must meet the following criteria:

  • Residency: Must live in specific ZIP codes within Sacramento County, including 95815, 95821, 95823, 95825, 95828, and 95838.
  • Income Threshold: Household income must not exceed 200% of the Federal Poverty Level (FPL).
  • Family Composition: Families must have at least one child under the age of five.
  • No Other Guaranteed Income Programs: Beneficiaries cannot be enrolled in similar financial aid initiatives.
