Bank of America presented updates on their ruling regarding Zelle, the payment service. If you are a Zelle user, you should be aware of the new limits on transactions and how they will affect you as a personal user or a small business owner, with different amounts for each.
Zelle is a service inside some banking apps that allows secure and fast transactions between bank accounts, without a fee. Initially, it was an independent app, but in April of this year, Zelle decided to shut it down and become part of over 2,200 bank and credit union apps.

What is the new Zelle Daily Limit at Bank of America?
Bank of America works with Zelle, but recently they updated their sending cap for users. Now, personal Zelle accounts can send up to $3,500 daily, $10,000 weekly, and $20,000 monthly. This also represents a limit on the number of transactions: 10, 30, and 60, respectively. If you hold a Small Business account, the daily cap is $15,000, $45,000 every 7 days, and $60,000 every month.
According to Bank of America, clients of Private Bank and Merrill Lynch Wealth Management could present higher dollar limits and total transfers, according to their own policies with their customers. Zelle had its own capping before they shut down the app, but now the banks have set their limits in order to ensure their safety policy. Many people were scammed using the service.

Some tips to use Zelle
Zelle offers safe and fast transactions. However, there are some inconveniences surrounding the use of the system, and some scam cases related to it. To avoid them, here are some tips you should know. First, you can check your transaction limits in the app's settings. From there, you can control your transactions.
Zelle transactions are irreversible. Once you send the money, you cannot cancel it, and the only way to "get the money back" is by talking to the receiver, who must send you the money again. For this reason, double-check the name before pressing the send button. Remember that a mistake could cost you one of your transaction limits and theirs too.
