Google and Lenovo launch ARM-powered Chromebook Plus 14 with AI features and 17-hour battery
Lenovo’s new Chromebook Plus 14 promises long battery life, AI tools, and a sharp OLED screen at $649.

Lenovo is embarking on a quest with the Chromebook Plus 14, the company’s first ever ARM-powered device, set to provide improved battery life and performance thanks to MediaTek’s Kompanio Ultra 910 chip. Lenovo states that the new Chromebook can achieve 17 hours of battery life on a single charge, making it one of the most battery-efficient Chromebooks currently available. The Chromebook Plus 14 also has some fun new AI features from Google, including image editing and tab management.
The 14-inch Chromebook Plus 14 comes in a beautifully designed package with a lightweight chassis and a 1,920 x 1,200 OLED display that is touch-enabled. The Chromebook can support up to 16GB of RAM and has an SSD of 256GB, as well as quad speakers with Dolby Atmos and a 5-megapixel webcam. The premium specifications are advanced by the addition of a fingerprint reader for fast logins and an overall experience that feels much more refined than any other Chromebook at this price point.
ARM power and AI integration
The major selling point of this Chromebook is its ARM architecture — which could produce a clear-life difference in your everyday computing life. The Chromebook Plus 14 has a MediaTek Kompanio Ultra 910 chipset which has been designed to give as long battery life as possible and make multitasking smoother.
Lenovo also showcases some AI-enhanced advantages — like Smart Grouping for tab organization, or AI-embedded background removal tools in its Gallery app. The AI-embedded features are all sourced from Google — and claim to simply enhance the Chromebook experience rather than complicate it.
Extra perks and availability
Google also announced a suite of AI-enabled features for all Chromebooks Plus devices, including a screen-based image search and a "Helping me read" feature that simplifies complicated language. All purchasers also receive a one-year subscription to the Google One AI Pro plan, 2TB of cloud storage and priority access to Gemini.
The Chromebook Plus 14 is available now at Best Buy and Lenovo's website, starting at $649 for the model with 16GB of RAM and a touch-enabled screen.
