Miro returns to the ring after AEW exit, WWE speculation continues
Miro has officially returned to the wrestling scene in the event Super Slam III.

Last weekend, the former AEW star Miro competed at the Qatar Pro Wrestling Super Slam III event on February 22nd. This comeback in Qatar after 1 year of absence in wrestling competitions. The ex TNT Champion Miro faced former WWE Champion and current AAA Mega Champion Alberto El Patron at the event.
Miro’s first match in almost 14 months marks the possibility of a contract with WWE, as he ended relations with AEW in early February. He is currently in good condition, despite struggling with many injuries that kept him out of the wrestling fights for more than a year. Many see this as an opportunity to show his skills in other companies that might be better suited for his character.

Miro returns to the ring following AEW exit
Formerly known as Rusev in WWE, the wrestling star entered AEW back in September 2020 as Kip Sabian's Best Man. He showed a new look and promised to display his full potential without creative limitations, as he claimed he had in WWE. Later, with a new character called The Reedemer, Miro achieved a TNT Championship in May 2021 after defeating Darby Allin.
Finally, at the beginning of February 2025, Miro left AEW after months of inactivity. The star had not wrestled since he beat Andrade El Idolo at AEW World's End in December 2023. His latest fight against Alberto El Patron was held at the Qatar Pro Wrestling Super Slam III. WWE Hall of Famer Mick Foley, and former WWE Superstars Matt Cardona, Nic Nemeth, and Mustafa Ali also appeared on the show.
Could Miro go back to WWE? Speculation continues
The news about the departure of Miro from AEW is something that fans saw coming. Initially, it was believed that his absence from shows was related to his several injuries, which might have been true at some point. However, in February, news broke that Miro was released from his contract after not being seen on AEW television since 2023.
Speculation is rife that Miro is set to make a return to WWE, where he previously spent a decade, as he had signed a developmental deal in 2010. During his period on the company, Miro spent 6 years on the main roster and captured the WWE United States Championship on three occasions. As of date, neither Miro nor the WWE have confirmed or denied these rumors.
