Philadelphia’s official poster for the 2026 FIFA World Cup was unveiled at the iconic Philadelphia Flower Show, marking an exciting milestone for the city as it prepares to host six matches at Lincoln Financial Field, including a highly anticipated knockout-stage game on the Fourth of July.

The design, created by Pittsburgh artist Nicholas McClintock, was selected through a statewide contest and represents the vibrancy of Philadelphia’s culture as part of the global event. This unique poster is part of the first-ever effort by FIFA to create city-specific designs for all 16 host cities across Canada, Mexico, and the United States.

Lincoln Financial Field, home of the 2024-25 Super Bowl champion Philadelphia Eagles, will host six matches at the 2026 FIFA World Cup, including a knockout-stage game on the Fourth of July. To kick off the excitement, Philadelphia's official host city poster for the tournament, designed by Pittsburgh artist Nicholas McClintock, was revealed at the Philadelphia Flower Show.

For the first time, the FIFA World Cup will feature a unique poster for each of its 16 host cities across Canada, Mexico, and the U.S. Each design is intended to artistically represent the city, celebrating local culture and communities.

The official reveal took place on March 5, when Philadelphia Soccer 2026, the nonprofit organizing the city's World Cup plans, presented McClintock’s design at the Pennsylvania Horticultural Society’s Philadelphia Flower Show – the nation's longest-running and largest horticultural event.

"The official Host City poster is a powerful reflection of Pennsylvania’s vibrant soccer culture and its artistic innovation," said Meg Kane, CEO of Philadelphia Soccer 2026. "Nick McClintock, our winning designer from Pittsburgh, embodies the creativity that sets apart the Commonwealth’s arts community."

Kane added, "Unveiling the design at the iconic Philadelphia Flower Show was the perfect platform to present this outstanding piece of Pennsylvania art to a global audience. We’re grateful to the Pennsylvania Horticultural Society for their collaboration in bringing this vision to life, and congratulate Nick on his winning design."

The process to create Philly's poster

The contest, which started as a statewide competition with over 400 artists from Pennsylvania, ultimately selected ten finalists to create full poster designs showcasing Philadelphia’s beauty and diversity. A panel of cultural leaders and artists chose the top three finalists, which included Philadelphia artist Hannah Westerman, Lancaster designer Tom Whalen, and the winning designer, McClintock.

“I’m truly honored that my design was chosen to represent Philadelphia for the FIFA World Cup. Seeing it come to life, especially in florals at the Philadelphia Flower Show, is incredible,” McClintock said. “The energy of live events has always inspired me, and it's thrilling to see my design, full of motion and meaning, celebrated in such a unique way.”
