NBA star Anthony Edwards is currently embroiled in a legal dispute over child support with Ayesha Howard, the mother of his daughter, Aubri’ Summers. Howard has refuted rumors that Edwards paid $1.08 million upfront for 18 years of child support, calling them "lies" and "fake news." She clarified that no such agreement exists, and there are no court documents or motions to support these claims. The rumor originated from viral posts on X (formerly Twitter) but was not substantiated by any official records.

The controversy began when Edwards allegedly advised Howard to get an abortion after she revealed her pregnancy in early 2024. Howard claimed that Edwards blocked her on all communication platforms and refused to provide emotional or financial support during her pregnancy.

Anthony Edwards silent on Child support rumors amid online backlash

In response to the rumors, Howard addressed the situation on her Instagram Story, expressing her frustration with the false claims. She emphasized that she has not received any upfront child support payments from Edwards and that the rumors are baseless. Howard also defended herself against online accusations of being a "gold digger," stating that her children's fathers are successful individuals, but she is not motivated by money.

Edwards has not publicly commented on the recent child support rumors. However, he has previously addressed allegations involving another woman, Paige Jordae, who claimed he offered her $100,000 for an abortion. Edwards apologized for his comments, stating that they were made "in the heat of a moment" and do not reflect his beliefs. He added that all women should be supported in making their own decisions about their bodies.

Anthony Edwards seeks Paternity test as Child support case moves forward

The legal proceedings between Edwards and Howard are ongoing, with a status conference scheduled for November 13, 2025. Edwards has petitioned a Georgia court for paternity determination and has requested genetic testing for himself, Howard, and the child. The outcome of these proceedings will determine the future of their child support arrangement.

Amidst these legal battles, Edwards continues to maintain a public relationship with his girlfriend, Shannon Jackson, with whom he shares a daughter named Aislynn, born in March 2024. The couple has not publicly addressed the ongoing child support issues involving Edwards and Howard.
