You'll never walk alone! Liverpool crowned Premier League champions after beating Tottenham
Liverpool has won the Premier League title in 2024-2025, tying Manchester United with 20 league championships. The triumph marks a remarkable transition for the club after the departure of long-time manager Jurgen Klopp.

Celebrate Reds! Liverpool's 2024-2025 season has gone beyond all expectations as the club won a record-equaling 20th Premier League title, after 5 years, in emphatic fashion against Tottenham Hotspur,
What was initially seen as a season of transition for Liverpool after Jurgen Klopp's departure turned into sensational success for the club and propelled them level in the history books with Manchester United as England's most successful club of all-time. The team secured the title after only their 34th fixture, and it is undoubtedly a testament to them being back on top of English football.
Liverpool wins their 20th title in Premier League history
It was supposed to be a transitional season for Liverpool, but even the most loyal supporters would not have expected it to lead them to the Premier League title.
With a comprehensive win over Tottenham Hotspur on Sunday, Liverpool claimed their 20th English league title, linking them with Manchester United as the most successful club in English football. With four games to spare, Liverpool won the title in brilliant style.
The season began in vanquished spirits after Jurgen Klopp, the adored German manager who had led the club to numerous trophies, including Liverpool's first league title in three decades in 2020 and the UEFA Champions League in 2019, departed.
With Klopp's exit looming at the end of the 2024 season, supporters were left wondering what the future would like and hoped for the best. In came Arne Slot, the Dutch manager who previously led Feyenoord to a league title in the Netherlands, but achieving the same success in a new league could be a different story.

In his first press conference as Liverpool’s new manager in July 2024, Slot recognized the difficult task ahead in taking over from Klopp, but was optimistic. "They are very big shoes to fill" Slot said. "But you can look at it as you are going to be inheriting a squad that has a winning culture… We have a real good squad, and as a manager, you want to go to a club whose players are good and have a chance of winning something."
And win something they did, and none was bigger than Mohamed Salah, Liverpool's right-winger. Salah's goal scoring, 28 goals in 34 appearances, saw him emerge as the Premier League's top scorer, but even more significant than that, he was also the Premier League leader in assists with 18.
Liverpool match Manchester United with 20 titles in Premier League
The point here is that while Liverpool's success this season cannot be taken away from them, their rivals' performances this season must also be taken into account.
Pep Guardiola's Manchester City—who had previously claimed four consecutive titles—had a troubling start to the campaign before losing important midfielder Rodri to injury. Arsenal—led by Mikel Arteta—looked sufficiently capable of mounting a title challenge after 13 games but have suffered a series of damaging injuries, losing their way and manageable place within the league.
Manchester United — Liverpool's historical rival — are currently sat in the bottom half of the table. Liverpool now has 20 league titles, but one must also consider the position their squad is in. Liverpool holds all the momentum currently with squad depth and managerial experience, seeming much closer to their next title than their historical rivals.
