Conan O’Brien to host the 2025 Oscars
The charismatic Conan O’Brien has been chosen as the host for this year’s ceremony. The Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences announced his selection in December, highlighting his "sharp wit and love for film."

Known for his distinctive humor, O’Brien jokingly promised that he will make people laugh at least three times—no more, no less.
A star-studded lineup of presenters
As always, the Oscars have invited some of Hollywood’s biggest names to present awards to the night’s winners.
Among the confirmed presenters are:

- Gal Gadot
- Samuel L. Jackson
- Scarlett Johansson
- Robert Downey Jr.
- Cillian Murphy
- Oprah Winfrey

Additionally, Rachel Zegler, Joe Alwyn, Dave Bautista, Halle Berry, Penélope Cruz, Ben Stiller, and Nick Offerman will take the stage to announce some of the winners.
No live performances of 'Best Original Song' nominees
Unlike previous years, the Best Original Song nominees will not be performed live during the ceremony. However, the Academy has planned several special performances to entertain the audience.
Special musical tributes:
- Queen Latifah will lead a tribute to Quincy Jones, who will receive an honorary Oscar.
- Doja Cat, Lisa (from Blackpink), Raye, Ariana Grande, and Cynthia Erivo will also perform during the event.
When does the Oscars' red carpet start?
The star-studded red carpet will be broadcast live on E! News starting at 4:00 p.m. ET / 1:00 p.m. PT.
Fans can also follow the best fashion moments on social media as celebrities arrive at the Dolby Theatre.
What time does the Oscars 2025 ceremony start?
The live telecast of the Oscars will begin a few hours after the red carpet event and will last over three hours. Here’s the schedule based on different time zones:
- United States: 4 p.m. PT/7 p.m. ET
- Mexico: 6:00 p.m. (Central Time)
- Colombia, Ecuador, Peru: 7:00 p.m.
- Venezuela, Bolivia: 8:00 p.m.
