Journey fans at NRG Stadium in Houston were left in shock on Friday, March 14, when the band's performance was unexpectedly cut short due to an electrical fire beneath the stage. The incident occurred during the band’s iconic hit, “Don’t Stop Believin’,” as the audio suddenly went out, leaving the crowd singing along in confusion.

What happened at NRG Stadium?

According to reports, an announcement initially informed the audience that the pause was due to an electrical issue and assured fans that the concert would resume. However, Journey never returned to the stage, and the show was officially canceled.

Witnesses stated that band members exited mid-performance while venue staff rushed to inspect the area with fire extinguishers. Photos shared by ABC 13 Houston showed staff investigating equipment under the drum set, further confirming reports of an electrical fire.

Some Journey's fans were not happy, to say the least.

Official statement and Journey's fans reactions

Although Journey has not yet commented on the incident, Rodeo Houston, which hosts events at NRG Stadium, released an official statement on Facebook:

"Due to an unforeseen electrical incident under the stage area, we regretfully announce the cancellation of tonight's Journey concert. We sincerely apologize to all fans for this disappointment."

Rodeo Houston assured ticket holders that their team was assessing the situation and would provide updates regarding rescheduling or refunds soon.

Despite their disappointment, fans took to social media to express both frustration and relief that no injuries occurred.

Will the Journey's show be rescheduled?

As of now, no rescheduled date for the Journey concert has been announced. However, Rodeo Houston confirmed that upcoming events at the stadium will proceed as planned. Their March 15 show featuring Warren Zeiders continued without issue, and they assured Journey fans that updates on refunds or rescheduling would be provided soon.
