Who was Austin Metcalf?

Metcalf, a student at Frisco’s Memorial High School, was a promising athlete. According to his Hudl profile, he stood 6 feet tall, weighed 225 pounds, and was part of the class of 2026. His father, Jeff Metcalf, told NBC 5 that his son was an MVP on the football team and had plans to attend college. The altercation reportedly began when Metcalf told Anthony he was sitting in the wrong area, which led to an angry response and the fatal stabbing.

Jeff Metcalf shared with NBC 5 that his son’s twin brother, Hunter, witnessed the stabbing and tried to stop the bleeding. Jeff described the heartbreaking scene: "They were twins, identical twins, and his brother was holding on to him, trying to make it stop bleeding, and he died in his brother's arms."

In a statement on Facebook, Jeff expressed his devastation, describing the loss as a tragedy that has deeply shaken him and his family. He also voiced his anger over the senseless violence: "What kind of parents did this child have? What was he taught? He brought a knife to a track meet and murdered my son by stabbing him in the heart."
