The tragic incident occurred during a track meet at Kuykendall Stadium in Frisco, Texas, when Anthony allegedly pulled out a knife and stabbed Metcalf after a confrontation.
Metcalf was pronounced dead at the hospital, according to the Frisco Police Department. And while Anthony was arrested, authorities state that he shouted that he was "protecting myself".

However, when an officer referred to Anthony as an "alleged suspect", he reportedly admitted it saying "I'm not alleged, I did it," "He put his hands on me. I told him not to."
The Anthony family’s fundraiser, posted on GiveSendGo, has quickly garnered support, with more than $85,000 raised toward their $100,000 goal. The family has described the accusations as "false, unjust, and harmful", while expressing their gratitude towards their community.
In contrast, Metcalf’s family has also launched a GoFundMe campaign for their own expenses, which has raised nearly $250,000 since the tragic event.
