Zoom Communications has restored its video-conferencing services after a global outage disrupted its platform, including video calls, website access, and the Zoom app, affecting thousands of users worldwide.

On April 16, 2025, Zoom Communications announced that it had resolved a significant global outage that disrupted its services.

Users around the world reported issues accessing the video-conferencing platform's website, video calls, and mobile application.

Zoom outage: thousands of users affected

According to Downdetector, a website which tracks online outages and disruptions, more than 67,280 users were affected by the problem not only in the United States, but the entire world.

However, the company took to social media to update its users and through their X account, they reassured them that the issue was solved. While the outage caused a discomfort to many, Zoom repaired it and were available online again very quickly.

What caused the Zoom outage?

Until now, Zoom has not disclosed the specific cause or details about the outage, but it is very common in big platforms for this kind of incidents to occur, as the big amount of traffic they handle, sometimes it's too much for the program.

However, Zoom's swift response helped to minimize further disruptions to their services.
