Sophie Nyweide's career
Sophie Nyweide started acting when she was 6 years old when she starred in the film 'Bella'. The film was about a mysterious chef and a waitress in need of a friend. The film's success led her to book small roles in TV shows like 'Law & Order' and films such as 'And Then Came Love' and 'Margot at the Wedding'.
Later in 2009, she played the role of Gael García Bernal and Michelle Williams' daughter in the film 'Mammoth', and later got the opportunity to appear in the film 'Noah' in 2014, starring Russell Crowe.

Sophie Nyweide's struggles behind the scene
Nyweide was recognized for her talent on screen, however that doesn't mean that she did not face any difficulties. The online obituary her family posted revealed that she faced many challenges, including the fact that her trusting nature often turned her into someone easy to take advantage of.
As her family describes her as an artist, they admit that her art (writings and artwork) often depicted her struggles and traumas. The family continues, saying that many people are heartbroken over the fact that therapists, law enforcement officers and everyone who loved her could not do anything else to save her.
While there is not an "official" cause of death, the obituary states that "She self-medicated to deal with all the trauma and shame she held inside, and it resulted in her death".
