A tragedy unfolded on Sunday, May 25, in Houston, Texas, where Derricka Ross fought viciously with her boyfriend, Javion Williams, during the Derby at Steeplechase Apartments. The fight concluded with a single gunshot, killing Williams immediately. The neighbors had called police after hearing the fight and the gunshot.
According to the Harris County Sheriff's Office, 22-year-old Williams had gone to Ross's apartment to move his belongings because he was relocating with his friend. The scuffle got out of hand with lightning speed and was concluded by a head-shooting bullet. Authorities confirmed Williams died at the scene before medical help could arrive.

Arrest and Charges Against Derricka Ross
Ross was arrested shortly after the incident at the scene. Harris County Jail records show she remains in custody with a $150,000 bond and is facing formal murder charges.
Sheriff Ed González said that the couple was in an intimate relationship and the argument escalated when Williams came with a friend to get his things. Witnesses indicated the verbal dispute turned physical, which ended with Ross shooting her boyfriend.

The police received the emergency call at 9:14 p.m. Sunday night at the Derby at Steeplechase Apartments, where startled neighbors contacted the Sheriff’s Office about the argument, which they thought was a heated argument, and the gunshot.
Officers responded quickly and learned that Javion Williams suffered a gunshot wound to the head and died. Ross allegedly admitted to the shooting before leaving, but the exact reason beyond the initial cause for the move remain unclear.
