A shooting occurred at Sangertown Square Mall on Saturday, prompting a large law enforcement presence at the scene. The incident was reported at 12:46 p.m., with Oneida County 911 Dispatch issuing an alert for shots fired. Authorities, including New Hartford Police, New York State Police, Oneida County Sheriff's Office, and S.W.A.T. teams, quickly responded to secure the area and lock down the mall.

New Hartford Supervisor Paul Miscione confirmed that one person was shot and injured during the incident. The victim, a male, was taken to Wynn Hospital for treatment. However, the victim has reportedly been uncooperative with investigators, which is hindering the progress of the investigation.
