Trump administration replaces COVID-19 resource site with lab leak theory page
The Trump administration has replaced the federal COVID-19 website with a page promoting the lab leak theory, removing prior health resources.

In a significant shift, the Trump administration has transformed the federal government's primary COVID-19 information website, COVID.gov, into a platform promoting the theory that the virus originated from a laboratory leak in Wuhan, China.
This change removes previously available public health resources and introduces politically charged content.
Public health information removed
Prior to this change, the COVID.gov webpage provided crucial information about vaccines and testing COVID-19, including treatments and information about resources for COVID-19 patients.
Right now, all that information is no longer available, and the new webpage features a banner titled: "Lab Leak: The True Origins of COVID-19," with a picture of Donald Trump. On the website, there are arguments supporting the theory of a lab leak, saying that the virus was released into the world, due to subpar biosafety measures at a Chinese laboratory.

Donald Trump's stances on COVID-19 do not end there. The webpage also criticizes Dr. Anthony Fauci, former President Joe Biden’s chief medical advisor; World Health Organization (WHO) and slams against public safety measures like social distancing, masking and lockdowns.
His criticism of WHO is not a surprise, as Donald Trump began a 12-month process of withdrawing the U.S. from the agency in January. It remains to be seen what would be the consequences of this, as the U.S. is by far the WHO's largest financial backer
