Pete Hegseth shared sensitive information about the Yemen bombings with a second Signal chat, including flight schedules for military strikes.

In a developing story involving sensitive military information, Pete Hegseth, the U.S. Defense Secretary, is facing scrutiny after it was revealed that he shared detailed plans about bombings in Yemen with a second Signal chat group.
The information, including flight schedules for F/A-18 Hornets targeting the Houthis, was shared with a select group consisting of his wife, brother, lawyer, and other individuals within his inner circle.

According to the New York Times, the second Signal chat created by Hegseth, included his wife Jennifer (former Fox News producer), his brother Phil, and his lawyer Tim Parlatore; whom they work at the Pentagon.
While the group chat as issued on January, before Hegseth's confirmation as Defense Secretary; he used his personal phone to access to the Signal chat instead of a government-issued device. The name of the group chat was "Defense | Team Huddle," and included about a dozen people from his personal and professional circle.

The information shared on the Signal chat is the same as The Atlantic’s editor Jeffrey Goldberg, had access to, which caught the attention of security officials.
Hegseth’s wife, brother, and lawyer involved in leaked information scandal
It is not the first time Jennifer Hegseth, Pete's wife, is in the middle of a controversy. She has been previously criticized for attending sensitive meetings with her husband and now has been identified as one of the people in the second Signal chat.
Both Hegseth's lawyer Tim Parlatore, and his brother, Phil Hegseth have roles within the Pentagon and have been identified as part of the group chat which further complicates the situation. Both personal and professional contacts have been called into question
