Governor Ron DeSantis signed a new law in Florida that endures measures against dogs considered violent and their owners. The law aims to improved public safety and to prevent attacks through clear definitions.
Known as the “Pam Rock Act”, the law introduces stricter regulations on the ownership of these animals, increasing penalties for whose do not comply with legal requirements. It also expands the authorities' measures to act in this cases.
How does the law define a violent dog in Florida?
According to the law, a violent dog is one that has bitten, attacked or caused serious injury to a person or another pet in public or private spaces. It is also considered violent if it has killed or seriously injured another domestic animal on several ocastions despite the place.
