Russia launches Drone and Missile assault on Kyiv following Ukraine's operation spiderweb
The Russian attack came as a counterattack after the Ukrainian attack on a Russian base. Reports indicate fires in kyiv due to the Russian missile attack.

A few minutes ago, a new chapter in the conflict between Russia and Ukraine erupted as Russian military forces launched airstrikes against Kyiv using drones and ballistic missiles.
According to reports from the Ukrainian Air Force, the attack resulted in fires caused by the impact of drones and missiles in the Ukrainian capital. So far, at least two explosions have been recorded in the Ukrainian capital, but further attacks cannot be ruled out in the coming minutes.

Russian attack causes fires and damage in kyiv
Kyiv Mayor Vitali Klitschko reported that fires were reported in the Holosiivskyi and Darnytskyi districts, residential areas of the Ukrainian capital. Falling debris was also reported in various parts of the city, particularly affecting the Solomianskyi, Holosiivskyi, and Darnytskyi districts.
In the Holosiivskyi district, the attack hit a residential building, causing damage that has yet to be quantified. Meanwhile, in the Darnytskyi district, one of the drones hit a 16-story building, sparking a fire, prompting emergency responders to be called in. Damage was also reported at a local school. Therefore, an air raid alert was activated throughout Ukraine as a precautionary measure against possible attacks in the near future.
Possible power outages as a preventative measure and possible repercussions of the attacks
The Kyiv City Military Administration reported that there could be possible power outages in some neighborhoods on the eastern side of the city as an emergency measure in the face of a possible new Russian ambush on Ukrainian territory in the near future.
The attack on the European country comes as a Russian counterattack to the Ukrainian drone attack on airfields, which affected 41 Russian military aircraft, and the attack on the Kerch Bridge, the only bridge directly connecting the two countries. These attacks disrupt a peaceful solution that had been rumored in recent weeks to begin negotiations for a peace agreement between the two countries.
An air raid alert map indicates that Kyiv is no longer in danger, but Kharkiv, Sumy, and Luhansk remain on alert
The Kyiv Military Administration has announced that the air raid alert has ended, according to a Telegram account. However, large areas of Ukraine, such as Kharkiv, Sumy, and Luhansk, remain under air raid alert, according to the country's constantly updated air raid alert map.

All emergency services have been deployed to evacuate residents. Four people have been reported injured, two of whom have already been taken to the hospital and are awaiting diagnosis.
Volodymyr Zelensky: “Russia must be held accountable for this.”
Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky said the attack left three dead (all rescue workers) and 49 injured. More than 400 drones and more than 40 ballistic missiles were also reported to have struck across Ukraine. "Russia is not changing its attitude: another massive attack on cities and everyday life," he commented on his X account.

On the other hand, Zelensky called on the world's countries to unite to pressure Russia to end the war, and if they don't, they are complicit. "Russia must be held accountable for this. We have done a lot together with the world to enable Ukraine to defend itself. But now is precisely the time when the United States, Europe, and the entire world can stop this war together by putting pressure on Russia," the Ukrainian President commented in an X post.
