Doechii blast Donald Trump's move to deploy the National Guard on L.A.
Rapper Doechii won the award for Best Female Hip-Hop Artist at the BET Awards. During her speech, she criticized the Trump administration's response to the L.A. protests.

Rap star Doechii won the Best Female Hip-Hop Artist award at the BET Awards and used her acceptance speech to criticize how Trump's administration is dealing with the L.A. protests. "There are ruthless attacks that are creating fear and chaos in our communities under the guise of law and order," said the singer.
"Denial is a River" singer emphasized the deployment of military forces to stop protests, including the National Guard and Marines. "I want you all to consider what kind of government it seems to be when, every time we exercise our democratic right to protest, the military is deployed against us. What type of government is that?" she said.
More people against the policy
Doechii was not the only artist that criticized Donald Trump. Billie Eilish's brother and collaborator, Finneas O'connell, posted an Instagram story about the protests. He cursed at ICE and said that he attended one of the protests and was immediately stopped by the authorities.
Even California Governor Gavin Newsom called the deployment "demented" in an X post. Doechii finally said, "People are being swept up and torn from their families, and I feel it's my responsibility as an artist to use this moment to speak up for all oppressed people... We all deserve to live in hope, not in fear."

Trump's measure against immigrants in L.A.
Last Sunday, President Donald Trump ordered the deployment of 2,000 National Guard troops to stop the people who are protesting against the administration's immigration policies. Initially, the protest was peaceful, but a major highway was shut down and self-driving vehicles were set on fire.
The protest began on Friday, after Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) officers were carrying out raids in Latino prominent population areas. Since then, the LAPD has made 56 arrests over the weekend, and three officers were injured in San Francisco.
