Plane crash in Spartanburg, NC, kills two people
A plane crash between South Carolina and North Carolina left two dead, a man and a woman, after their Beechcraft crashed.

Two people were killed after a small plane crashed on the line between South Carolina and North Carolina. The twin-engine Beechcraft was en route to Grand Strand Airport from Spartanburg, according to the records. The aircraft's number, N82UC tail, is registered under Majesty Air Inc. in Delaware.
According to Fox News, officials said that the victims are a man and a woman, the North Carolina State Highway Patrol (NCSHP) states that Philip and Cheryle Porter were on the plane. The crash happened in a wooded area near Old Dothan Road and Tabor City.
The plane was on air for an hour
According to Columbus County Sheriff, Bill Rogers, the airplane left Spartanburg at 11:30 am, and it was last spotted at 12:44 pm by the radar. The National Transportation Safety Board (NTSB) is leading the investigation, and they will gather information and records on weather forecasts, aircraft maintenance records, flight track data, and more.
WECT 6, a local news network, spoke with neighbors, saying that small planes like the Beechcraft frequently fly in the area, but a fatal incident like this has never occurred before. Betty Hennegan, a woman who lives near the residential area, said: "It could have gone another way, it could have dropped right here near us, and there could have been more danger."

What could cause the crashed?
Robert Kratz, a pilot interviewed by WSPA News, shared a theory on what could have caused the accident. According to the veteran commercial pilot, the flight was quiet and routine until they approached Myrtle Beach, when there was a warning of heavy weather.
“He is, in effect, scared off, and then attempts to escape the area to the northwest, only to find himself in thicker weather at that point, which overtakes him,” the pilot said. He attempts to approach Grand Strand at exactly the wrong time, when severe weather is in the vicinity.”
