Noah Centineo joins Jason Momoa, Andrew Koji and Roman Reigns in talks to star a Street Fighter movie
Video game adaptations are booming in Hollywood, with hits like Sonic and Uncharted. Street Fighter, due in 2026, is looking to stand out after failures of previous versions.

Noah Centineo joins Jason Momoa, Andrew Koji, and Roman Reigns in early talks to star in the movie adaptation of Street Fighter. They were confirmed by The Hollywood Reporter, which said that Legendary Entertainment, the producer in charge of this film, is in early negotiations with the actors.
The Capcom franchise adaptation will be directed by Kitao Sakurai, best known for his work writing, directing, and executive producing The Eric Andre Show. He was confirmed by Legendary early this year. It is also known that the game developers and producers are working very closely on this film.
Video Games in Hollywood
Hollywood video game adaptations to films are now on a good streak. Movies such as the Sonic trilogy, Pokémon Detective Pikachu, The Angry Birds Movie, Uncharted, Mortal Kombat 1, and the recent success Minecraft are dominating the box office.
There are also TV show adaptations of video games. Netflix has in its catalog shows like Cyberpunk: Edgerunners, two Castlevania series, and Arcane: A League of Legends Story. Recently, Amazon Prime Video launched Secret Level, an anthology based on different games like Mega Man, Warhammer 40,000, and the iconic Pac-Man.

Not the First Street Fighter Movie
In the 1990s, a film directed and written by Steven E. De Souza premiered. Street Fighter cast was amazing: leading Jean-Claude Van Damme, Raul Julia, and Ming-Na Wen. However, it did not meet box office expectations and is considered a failure. Also, this is the last Raul Julia film that he worked before he died a few months before the movie premiered.
Another Street Fighter movie premiered in 2009. The Legend of Chun-Li, starring Kristin Kreuk, Michael Clarke Duncan, and Neal McDonough, did not satisfy fans, and they did not support the film. There are also a few anime films that were well received by fans; however, the Legendary and Capcom production could be the first live-action adaptation to properly appeal to fans.
Legendary and Capcom’s Street Fighter is planned to premiere in 2026.
