This item was originally discontinued years ago, and customers have been eagerly waiting for its return. Now, McDonald’s is finally making it happen, and fans are about to see their wishes come true.
Years of being absent from McDonald’s menu, these crispy chicken tenders are making a comeback. They were first introduced in 1998, and now, they’re being reintroduced to satisfy the cravings of fans nationwide.

What item is returning to McDonald's Menu?
It’s the return of the Chicken Strips! Introduced in 1998 it became a staple at McDonald's. However, they were eventually discontinued in 2013, leaving fans longing for their return. Now, after nearly a decade, McDonald's is bringing them back to attract chicken lovers and satisfy long-standing requests.
In addition to the Chicken Strips, McDonald’s is also reviving the Chicken Big Mac and the Snack Wraps as part of a larger chicken-themed menu update. The Chicken Big Mac, which replaces beef patties with crispy chicken, will be available as a limited-time offering, and the Snack Wraps, featuring breaded chicken and various fillings, are expected to hit the menus by mid-2025.

This move is part of McDonald's strategy to expand its chicken offerings and cater to customer demand for more variety in their menu options. The Chicken Strips and other chicken items are sure to bring back a sense of nostalgia for those who remember them from years ago.
“We're excited about the significant opportunity we see within our chicken portfolio and see the potential to add another point of chicken market share by the end of 2026,” McDonald’s CEO Chris Kempczinski said in a statement.
What other chicken items are coming back?
Alongside the Chicken Strips, McDonald’s will also bring back the Snack Wraps, which were discontinued in 2016. These wraps, featuring crispy chicken, lettuce, cheese, and sauces, were a hit with customers and are set to return by mid-2025.
The Chicken Big Mac will also make an appearance, offering a chicken-filled twist on the classic Big Mac, for a limited time throughout the year.
This year, there is incredible energy for the return of Snack Wraps in the U.S.,” Kempczinski said.
