Soy can cause allergy reactions in people
Soy, a major allergen, is commonly found in food products and can cause mild stomach discomfort like constipation, bloating, and nausea. It can also trigger allergic reactions, such as rashes, itching, and breathing difficulties, in some individuals.
Food Allergy Research and Education reports that soy allergy is most common among infants and young children, with around 0.4% of U.S. infants altered. Additionally, soy is considered “possibly unsafe” for children allergic to cow's milk when used as a substitute.
The FDA has confirmed that, as of the recall, no illnesses or adverse reactions have been reported. Consumers who purchased the affected product are advised to return it for a full refund.
This recall follows a March incident where nearly 200,000 cans of Good & Gather Cut Green Beans were pulled from shelves due to potential foreign object contamination.
