Peruvian Congress approves vote of confidence for Eduardo Arana’s Cabinet
Peru’s Congress granted a vote of confidence to Prime Minister Eduardo Arana’s cabinet after a tense debate, solidifying its political backing amid growing national challenges.

The Peruvian Congress has endorsed Eduardo Arana's Cabinet of Ministers with 62 votes in favor, 30 against, and 10 abstentions. This decision comes after the newly elected Prime Minister outlined the general policy plans of Dina Boluarte's government and the various strategies they will implement to address several social issues.
During his presentation, Arana proposed the creation of a commission to decide whether Peru will remain a party to the Treaty of San José, arguing that "it is an aspect of great interest," the Prime Minister commented in Congress.
Divided Congress debates Arana cabinet as Popular Renewal and JP voice opposition
During the debate, there were various positions regarding the votes against from the parliamentary groups. For example, Popular Renewal Congressman Alejandro Muñante mentioned that none of the requests his party had made had been executed. Therefore, the congressman rejected the vote of confidence in Arana's cabinet.

Meanwhile, Guillermo Bermejo, a member of the JP-Voces del Pueblo party, reaffirmed his vote of confidence, admitting that he had been planning his vote for several days. "Now the minister is calling for unity, but when they had all their tentacles, they overwhelmed their opponents and used insults as their banner," Bermejo commented.
