Why is CVS closing stores?
According to a spokesperson for CVS, “closing locations strategically” to improve health, wellness, and pharmacy care access, rather than reacting to industry pressures. However, that's not the only reason: population shifts, store and pharmacy density, and even patterns in consumer behavior; had an impact in this decision.

New CVS store openings and expansions
Despite the closing of stores, the company also plans to open 30 new stores this year, including several inside Target stores, signaling a strategic realignment rather than a retreat from the market.
They are trying to adapt their changing retail, while maintaining a strong presence nationwide.
