PNC Park fan in critical condition after fall during Pirates vs Cubs game
The fan who fell from the stands at PNC Park during a Pittsburgh Pirates vs. Chicago Cubs game remains in critical condition. The incident occurred during the seventh inning

On April 30, 2025, a fan attending the Pittsburgh Pirates vs. Chicago Cubs game at PNC Park in Pittsburgh suffered a critical injury after falling from the stands onto the field during the seventh inning.
The incident occurred following a two-run double by Andrew McCutchen, putting the Pirates ahead in the game.
Immediate medical attention and emergency response at PNC Park
The game was immediately paused as medical staff rushed through the field to get to the fallen fan. Pittsburgh EMS, along with the Pirates and Cubs athletic training teams, were able to swiftly provide first aid to him before transporting him to Allegheny General Hospital.

As of now, the fall is being treated as an accident, according to Pittsburg Public Safety Department, and while no further information is available for now they have said that the police does not "anticipate providing ant additional updates to the public".
Support from Pirates and Cubs players and fans during critical fall
Players from both teams seemed visibly upset and praying for the fan. Additionally, Pirates manager Derek Shelton, while being interviewed, asked fans to keep the victims and his friends and families in their prayers.
“I thank both our medical staff, the Cubs medical staff, EMS, everybody that got to the gentleman. I just ask everybody to keep him in your prayers," Shelton told the reporters.
McCutchen, a gardener for The Pirates, also shared his sentiments on X, saying, "I just want to offer thoughts and prayers with the incident that happened earlier in the game."
