What is the new season of Bridgerton about?

Now featuring a new leading duo, Luke Thompson as Benedict Bridgerton and Yerin Ha as his love interest, Sophie Baek, the latest season of the Shonda Rhimes-produced romance shifts its spotlight to the free-spirited second son. While both his elder and younger brothers (Anthony and Colin) have found marital bliss, Benedict remains reluctant to settle—until he encounters the enchanting "Lady in Silver" (Ha’s Sophie) at his mother’s masquerade ball.

Luke Thompson said that his biggest challenge for his character's story was to explore "the struggle between a proper old-school fairy tale — the romance of it — and the actual reality of the world."

Kate and Anthony (season 2) and Colin and Penelope (season 3), will return for Season 4, this time as new parents with their respective babies in tow.

Bridgerton Season 4 is the most "book accurate"

Jess Brownell, the showrunner, along with Luke Thompson and Yerin Ha, confirmed that Season 4 will be the most faithful adaptation of Julia Quinn’s Bridgerton novels to date. She revealed that key plot elements from Benedict’s book, An Offer From a Gentleman, will be featured, including the beloved masquerade ball—set to dominate the Season 4 premiere—the cherished "my cottage" moments, and the iconic lake scene.

The 3 of them, also, shared that season 4 will explore Regency-era class dynamics more deeply than previous seasons, as Sophie comes from a lower social class than Benedict and the Bridgerton family. The season will also embrace fairytale and forbidden love themes.

Currently in production in London, the eight-episode fourth season has yet to receive an official premiere date.
