A popular shampoo brand has issued a recall due to potential health concerns, affecting a limited number of products distributed in specific areas. This recall comes after a recent discovery of a bacterial contamination that could pose risks to consumers.

While the product has been pulled from shelves, consumers are urged to take immediate action. Details on the affected batch and specific health risks are being provided to ensure public safety.

Which shampoo brand has recalled their products?

Henkel, the manufacturer of consumer products, announced on Tuesday that Tec Italy Totale Shampoo has been removed from shelves due to possible contamination with Klebsiella oxytoca bacteria.

Henkel's Mexican branch voluntarily recalled 1,068 units of the shampoo after microbiological testing identified the bacteria, as stated in a press release sent to Fox News Digital.

The shampoo was distributed in New York and California, and there is a possibility it was sold in additional states, Henkel cautioned.

The product was also available for direct purchase through various retailers.

The recalled shampoo comes in a green 33.81 fluid ounce/1-liter plastic bottle, with the lot number 1G27542266 printed on the side and the UPC code 7501438375850, according to the release.

Exposure to this bacteria may lead to eye, nose, and skin infections, along with potentially more severe reactions for individuals with weakened immune systems, Henkel warned.

"To date, no harm or injury has been reported from the use of these products," the company stated.

"Consumers who experience symptoms or have any medical concerns related to this recall should contact a doctor immediately."

Consumers who have purchased the affected bottles should cease using the shampoo and return it to the store for a full refund, Henkel advised.

"Tec Italy aims to minimize any inconvenience caused to consumers and is committed to ensuring their complete satisfaction," the company added.

Henkel also confirmed, "The U.S. Food and Drug Administration is aware of this recall."
