Chappell Roan, the rising star behind "Hot to Go!" recently stirred up a conversation about parenthood during her appearance on the "Call Her Daddy" podcast. The 27-year-old singer boldly stated that she hasn’t met a single parent who is truly happy, joking that they are all in "hell."

Roan’s remarks sparked a heated debate as parents and non-parents shared their contrasting views on the challenges and joys of raising children.

Is parenthood really as hellish as Chappell Roan says?

Chappell Roan's comments did not sit well with a lot of people. However, there are many parents who agree with her and praised her for talking about it, describing that despite their deep love for her children, raising them is "rough". The "Good luck babe" singer stated in a podcast that all of her friends who have had children at her age are always exhausted.

Chappell Roan sparks a debate: parents vs non-parents

While Chappell Roan is not currently a parent, she has stated that she enjoys spending time with her friends which are parents, the debate her comments sparked is far from over. Jennifer Glass, a Sociology expert, points out that being "satisfied" with parenthood is not the same as being truly happy.

While it is very common for parents to experience a happiness high after childbirth, the demands of raising a child eventually take its toll; specially in the U.S. where there are a lot of bumps in the road, such as the lack of parental leave or gun control.
